The Cleveland Foundation’s mission is to enhance the lives of fgvall residents of Greater Cleveland, now and for generations to come, by working together with our donors to build community endowment, address needs through grantmaking, and provide leadership on key community issues.


Belt Magazine

Belt Magazine is a digital publication by and for the Rust Belt and greater Midwest. Founded in 2013 as an antidote to shallow, distorted representations of the region, we challenge simplistic national narratives by paying local journalists, writers, photographers, and poets to cover their communities with depth, context, and the kind of rich insight that can only come from a deep relationship with a place.


Cleveland Documenters

The Documenters Network was created in 2018 by City Bureau, a nonprofit civic journalism lab that goes beyond informing the public. We focus on equipping people to access and produce the information they need. We make our work, process and tools as open and useful as possible. Documenters.org centralizes public meeting dates, times, locations, official records and original documentation at the city, county, and state-level in one searchable location.


Project Noir

Enlightened Solutions developed a research project focused on gaining insight and tangible knowledge from the experiences of Black Women in Cleveland. The final report culminated into Project Noir. Enlightened Solutions created and dispersed a survey focused on understanding the experiences of Black Women in Cleveland.


Literary Cleveland

Literary Cleveland is a creative writing center that empowers people to explore other voices and discover their own. Through an expanding roster of multi-level classes, workshops and events, Literary Cleveland assists writers and readers at all stages of development, promotes new and existing literature of the highest quality, and advances Northeast Ohio as a vital center of diverse voices and visions.


The NE Ohio Black Health Coalition

The Northeast Ohio Black Health Coalition is a social justice organization created to address the impact of racism on African American disparities including policy inequities, historical trauma, food insecurity, research, behavioral health and addiction, health promotion by working to empower, educate and advocate for health equity in under-served communities.


EDWINS

EDWINS Leadership & Restaurant Institute offers formerly incarcerated adults a foundation in the culinary and hospitality industries, and a support network necessary for long-term success. The driving principle behind the organization is that every human being, regardless of their past, has a right to a fair and equal future.


Rust Belt Riders

Rust Belt Riders provides businesses, organizations, and individuals with a clean, timely, and community-benefiting alternative to landfills for their wasted food. Our mission is to feed people, not landfills. The services Rust Belt Riders provides to our community result in Tilth Soil, a line of certified organic composts and soils that improve our food system and advance nature-based solutions to the climate crisis.


Rid-All Green Partnership

The Rid-All Green Partnership is an anchor in Cleveland’s Urban Agriculture Innovation Zone, a 26-acre area of mostly vacant city land bank and tax delinquent properties. The long-term strategy is to use urban agriculture to educate the next generation of Clevelanders to not only learn to grow and eat fresh foods, but to also operate and grow their own businesses in the food industry, ranging from selling fresh produce and fish to food distributors to full-fledged processing and packaging of fresh food products.
